Where did we leave off? Well the day we were discharged from the hospital also marked the day Ivy turned 3 months old- already!
Ivy at 3 months is amazing- she is so interactive, the happiest, smiliest baby you could meet. She loves to watch her big brother and is also captivated by TV (something Brooks never had interest in). She just started rolling over during tummy time (so belly to back). She is awake much more and is starting to show some interest in toys. Right now it is more what she can watch, but if we put a very grabable toy on her she is starting to work on it with her little hands.
Sleep still stinks- but I am not addressing that until after our doctor's appointment tomorrow. I am hoping they let us go to meds twice a day instead of 3 times. Part of the reason sleep stinks so bad is she has to have these meds at precise times, but isn't waking at precise times, so I end up staying up with her or waking her early or something. If we can get rid of the middle of the night med giving, things I think will shift to a better routine for us.
Ivy is very adaptable- she is not on a schedule yet and when she does get on one she is going to have to learn to nap out and about because I can't keep Brooks home all morning for her nap. Once she is up it is lunch time then his nap time- hopefully she adjusts well and is flexible.
Here are her monthly chair shots- with the newborn ones to see just how big she is getting! She has crossed that threshold from the really new newborn look, to a filled out baby newborn look.
Not only was sitting on her not enough- he had to cover her face too. I guess he regards the chair as 'his'.
Look how well she is doing with her head during tummy time!
The day after we came home I was brave and took the kids for a solo trip up to my parents. I call this brave just because the 100 mile ride on my own with the duo was daunting- but they did great. Brooks barely napped in the car- but his excitement at seeing Nana, Pa, and Uncle Gee (said with the g like in guy) carried him through. We went up to see Griff's senior night lacrosse game. It was tough going, but there was a baseball dugout with a fence- so we locked ourselves in there to watch. This helped b/c it was semi shady and kept Brooks from running towards the field.
What a difference a year makes- this was B and Uncle G at a game last year vs this year
Ivy was not into the pictures in the sun
Senior recognition- all the parents got to come up on the field to be proud of their young men.
Although she was not into pictures in the sun, in the dugout during the game Ivy had a grand old time
Brooks watched and clapped for Uncle G's goals.
Fast forward and suddenly it is memorial day weekend. We went down the shore- the house was empty because Eric's parents were on a trip with our nephews, but it was a nice day trip for us.
Eric and Brooks went to watch the mummers parade put on every year by the guy who lives across the street (big ted)
I tried to put them in patriotic colors- Brooks was here for one picture than off running. I seem to have less and less pictures of him b/c he refuses to sit still.
My loves hanging on the deck.
After the parade it was nap time for the duo- when they woke up we headed to the beach.
Beach bound Beauty!
Brooks sincerely HATED the beach when we arrived.
But his Uncle and cousin had been digging a hole. Eric eased him in, and before you knew it he was having a blast digging and splashing.
this is serious business
And to give you true perception of how deep this was- Brooks is standing and holding up his shovel inside the hole
Ivy was unphased by the beach.
But loved hanging out in her sun tent
We finished off the day with dinner at the water, then hit the road at bedtime with 2 exhausted kiddos.
We hope everyone else had a wonderful holiday weekend!!!
