Holiday Improvement

We had a nice long weekend- Eric had a 3 day weekend, but worked about 7 hours on Saturday and went to the Eagles game Sunday, so a lot of it was just me and B. Monday was great because they had daddy/baby time while I went to the salon and got a pedicure- heaven!

Hanging around (love this outfit- another baby Gap one!)

Munching on Sophie- I think teething is about to begin- he is chewing everything (sophie, chairs, toys, pillows, blankets, etc) and is a drool king!

Making a great attempt to roll over- he really almost had it- I think the white bear was in his way

I took these pictures a week ago or so- but they were cute so I am throwing them in here

And last night- Eric's family celebrates Yom Kippur- so we went to the cousins house to join in the holiday fun. This was us as we were leaving the house- happy as can be and looking adorable. Daddy dressed him

When we got to Steven & Elaine's- B started screaming. He was great, then we walked into the kitchen, he saw about 15 people, and the lower lip came out. The screaming started and didn't stop for an hour. Magical pop-pop Jim calmed him down by letting him eat his finger. (no bottle or pacifier would do- just pop-pop's finger).
After he was calm here are some pictures of the night

2 babies- Brooks and Maurice the dog!

No Sleep

No sleep seems to be the theme of the week... no napping and up 2-3 times a night (it used to be just once). According to baby books this could be goingon for so long because we are getting hit by a double whammy- the 3 month growth spurt, and a major phase of cognitive development. Apparently at 3-4 months babies suddenly become more aware of the wotld around them so don't want to nap and don't want to spend too long eating (hence the night waking) in fear of missing something. Fortunately B is a happy boy- it's me who is getting cranky.

Bathtime fun- part of our nightly bedtime routine

Hanging out- and a note to self to check out how diff. outfits snap before purchasing. He has plenty of room to grow into this- but there is no center snap so his diaper hangs out

Tummy Time continues- new this week is him actually noticing the baby in the mirror

Same shot but really really creepy, horror film distortion of his handsome face

Loving the bumbo- and such a big boy in his 3-6 mo. stuff from baby Gap (I bought a whole bunch of shirts and pants to mix and match... so cute!)

Activity mat fun

And Ming got a haircut :)

Holidays, Tailgating, and a video

What a weekend!
Saturday marked the beginning of the Jewish holidays- which Eric's family celebrates. Susan and Jim threw a beautiful dinner for a large number of people- it looked great and we were so excited to show the baby off to family and friends. B had other plans. We arrived at 6:30, and from 6:35 until 8pm, when we left, he screamed his head off. He was inconsolable- crying, crying, and crying. Would not eat, would not sleep, would not be comforted- we tried all our tricks. The poor kid was just very overtired. He had not napped all day, and then combine the lack of sleep with overstimulation and unfamiliar territory- and it was a disaster. So we left, without having even really left the guest room. Never, ever has B been like that. He is such a happy baby- all the time! If he is very upset usually within 10 minutes we somehow get him calm/asleep/eating- of course when we are with other people that is what goes down.

Sunday he was back to his happy self. Nana, Grandpa, and Uncle G had tickets to the Eagles home opener so we went down to meet them for tailgating and visiting. It was a lot of fun and a gorgeous day!

Sunday night Barbara came over for the holiday and to see B

New this week- he really is getting grown up-

VIDEO: exersaucer fun

He quickly gets bored and lets us know it- this face shows he was done with exersaucer fun!

Happy 3 month Birthday!!!

"HOORAY, I'm 3 months old!!"

There is no 3 month Dr. appt so we are on our own for stats. We measured his head at 16.5", his length at 25" (WOW) and I will get his weight on Monday when I go to my moms group at the hospital because there is a baby scale there. He is definitely so much bigger. He has become a baby baby rather than a newborn. People don't make comments about how new he is anymore, just about how huge and gorgeous his eyes are :)

Here are the monthly shots

This one I envision him saying "This guy again mom?!?!"

The obligatory chair shot (which is now also on the side of the page)

Very happy and excited about being 3 months old :)

And just to show how big he really has become- look at him compared to the monkey in the following shots, 1 month vs. 3 month

Other pictures from this week. He is getting more and more into his toys.
He looooves his puppy blanket

The infamous Sophie the giraffe, which to me looks more like a cheap dog toy but apparently is a amazing for teething (which we have not quite started yet) according to other moms

His hands count as a toy

His Daddy does too!

And this is a new toy that he loves because he can actually get a grip on it so that he can put it right in his mouth
