Happy 4th of July!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. We had a great family 3 day weekend.
Friday we went out for family dinner at our old closeby favorite- Sabrina's. Saturday we went to the nearby playground- Brooks is a huge fan of the "weeeeeee" That is Brooks talk for the swings. Eric and Brooks went in the morning, and all of us went again post nap. We went out to dinner again at a little place near us. Sunday we got up and went to Franklin Park. This is a cool local place that is a popular tourist spot in Philly. It had a great playground, a train ride, a carousel, and a Steven Starr burger shop- Square Burger. Then it was naptime followed once again by the swings. For the 4th we hung out and went down to the Ben Franklin Parkway.
Our neighborhood is a massive chaos zone for the 4th. The Art Museum is literally a half mile from our house. They close down our street, no parking allowed, and there is a big festival/carnival from our street to the Art Museum. Lots of boardwalk type food and games and stuff like raffles, bounce houses, face painting, petting zoos, etc.
Needless to say we are exhausted, but in a good way! Brooks had a blast and it was nice family time. The kids looked adorable decked out in their patriotic gear.
Here are some pictures from our weekend!
Star spangled cuties!
Here are some more pictures of my patriotic cuties- but on the go at the festival down the street! You can see Brooks playing on the age appropriate blow up stuff and the slide he went down with Daddy. He was not into the slide- the heat combined with the line made him crabby about it.
This picture is absolutely getting framed- heart melter for sure!
And here are some pictures from our day at Franklin Square and the carousel!
How Ivy spent most of the day
Fun playground just for toddlers!
Yes we took a cab, no there were no carseats, yes this is in fact legal, and it was a little nervewracking.
Other fun pictures from this week!
B modeling his conducter hat he got for his birthday- unhappily and happily
Poppop Jim & Grandma Sue brought B back an overthetop Hawaiian outfit from their trip- a friend put it right, he looks like an adorable mini Florida retiree. Eric dressed him in it for their boy time Saturday.
My big boy- not a baby anymore!
Look at his eyes- they used to be the most beautiful BIG blue eyes, and now they are a gorgeous green-blue. LOVE
Practicing funny faces!
He thinks swinging next to Daddy is the most hysterical thing ever- seriously
Obsessed with his belly button- the weird belt thing is made for skinny kids to keep their pants up, unfortunately these shorts only had belt loops in the front
My sweet girl!
A new favorite picture
Her favorite toy
I tried to get them to swing together- it didn't last long before both voiced loud complaints, but it was sure cute while it lasted!
