HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY BROOKS !!!!!!!!!!

OUR BABY IS 2 !!!!!

How, how on earth has time gone so fast. Brooks is 2 years old. He had a wonderful birthday last Friday and a fantastic party on Saturday. We also have Happy Father's Day, Happy 4 monthday, and Happy Graduation Uncle G this past week- but this post is all about B. I will do another one on the other 3 this weekend.

Beyond
That is what I would call our journey with Brooks to this point. It has been beyond anything I could have ever imagined having a child could be. He is beyond gorgeous, beyond hysterical, beyond personable, beyond sweet, beyond amazing. The love we have for him is beyond bounds.

We are the most fortunate of parents to have this little boy in our life. He makes us laugh, smile, shake our heads, frustrated at his mischievous personality, everything.
He taught us about a whole new part of ourselves that we never knew was missing. He is just beyond everything as is his sweet sister- but this baby, my first baby, is somehow no longer a baby but a 2 year old boy!

When he woke we all went in singing happy birthday, he looked at us like we were lunatics

But then he thought it was pretty cool. This kid LOVED being sung Happy Birthday to on his big day

We had all his presents wrapped and piled up downstairs. He was very excited to see a BIKE! (well a tricycle- but in his head it is a big boy bike, you can see his look of wonder that this is for him)

amazed

We then did our chair & monkey pictures. This is the last one he will be in a onesie for- he is just too big now for them. I plan on trying to keep up these pics on his birthday, maybe even half birthdays as well until he is 5, however I am not sure just how long he will fit on his chair.

He thought it was soooo funny to keep standing up, it became a game for him (frustrating for me but just a taste of what's to come with showing his independence!)

Daddy tried to show him how to sit nicely on the chair, but it was still a no go- we got a few decent shots though

Could he look any more bored with this?

Ivy was very happy that he was 2 as well!

He got to watch his very favorite episode of Sesame Street (we can never delete it- he asks for it by name, well he asks for Row, Row, Row b/c it is the sing along episode and he loves to sing Row Row Row (your boat)).

He's 2, really? wow!!!

We went out to dinner to one of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood- Sabrina's. We went there on his 1st birthday as well. He loves it there, we love it, and they know him. He rode his tricycle there. I need to get him a helmet. I realize we can strap him in, but it still seems like he could tip over a bump and I hear if you get them started wearing a helmet now you put off the big fight later.

Brooks loved the ritual of candles and singing- LOVED it. We relit the candle only about 10 times and just kept doing it. The look of intense concentration/puzzlement on his face is his 'blow' face when he is trying to blow them out. It was hysterical- He did more of just a face than actual blowing, and made a little sound like an exhale. His smile was HUGE every time we sang the song.

Silly Boy!

Say Cheese! (seriously- this is his cheese face)

Then he rode home for bedtime after a wonderful birthday day- he needed to get rested for his party the next day!

His party- We held it at a karate gym. Inexpensive, easy, and a padded room for children to run around in that was filled with balls, balloons, inflatable swords & light sabers, tents, etc. The kids seemed to have a GREAT time.

This picture captures perfectly how much fun B had

A table cloth did not fit on the one table b/c it was against a wall so I taped birthday wrapping paper on it- I think it was a great idea! You can see the goodie bags and B's new favorite thing in the world- cheese curls LOL

Aunt Ali and Ivy- they hung out together most of the party! Thank you LOL

Brooks and Nana & Grandpa!

The spread... I had way too much food but it was ok :)

The birthday boy in all his glory- read his shirt, it says DANGER- 2 year old :)

The cake

Our family- we are so fortunate

Kids playing!

Ivy girl

Nana helped quite a bit with Ivy as well :) Thank you!

Big Bird floated up to the ceiling- yet not to the top b/c he had some weight that was supposed to keep him down, so he was just floating midair. It was bizarre and cool all at once.

Ivy and our friend's daughter who is only 13 days older.

The loot! Our friends and family are so generous.

And to close the post- Andy & Stacie gave B a bunch of yo gabba gabba stuff- including the hat & glasses the host/main character wears. I will be posting pics of B using his gifts as time goes by- but this one was easy to start right away with no set up and hysterical. B got everyone involved
