I am 22 weeks pregnant tomorrow!!! 22 WEEKS!!!
Eric was actually able to feel the baby kick this morning for the first time (I have been feeling it inside for a few weeks)
We had our big ultrasound last Thursday- this is the one where many find out the sex of the baby, but more important than that- the focus of the ultrasound is to check out all aspects of the babies development to make sure it is healthy. They look at the heart, kidneys, brain, etc to make sure the right number and right size of what is there is what it should be. We stayed true to being team green and did not find out boy or girl. Squeaks was adorable and waving his/her arms around the whole time. Everything with the baby looked perfect and healthy! That is great news. The only bad news was I have marginal placenta previa. This means the placenta is currently in the way of the baby coming out and if it doesn't move I have to have a c-section or it could be bad news for both of us. I am trying not to think too much about it because I have so much time for it to resolve itself. The dr. seemed to think there was a great chance it would move on its own. I go back in 8 weeks for a followup appt. They said to think of it like drawing a dot on the balloon, as the balloon is blown up, the dot would automatically move up the side of the balloon in the expansion. As my uterus grows with baby, the placenta should be pulled up and out of the way as well. So this wasn't the best news, however chances are good it will resolve on its own and baby looks great- that is the most important thing!
